Red Leg Banana Prawn (Peneus indicus) a very closely related species with red colouration on the tail and legs is caught in Northern Territory waters in the second half of the year.
	Banana prawn, named due to its yellow colour and typical prawn shape is caught in quantities in the Gulf of Carpentaria fishery from April 1st until the middle of May. This species has major markets in China as a whole prawn, Japan and the USA as a headless or value added form.
